When you use the contact forms embedded in my site to contact me, I collect your name, your email address, and any additional information you choose to include in your message. This information is collected so that I can get back to you regarding your question or request.

I am the sole owner of the information collected on this site. I only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give via email or other direct contact from you. I will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

I will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted me. I will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request.

When you seek in-person services:

In order to provide effective services, I will require some personal information provided with your consent when you come to the studio or meet me virtually. Your confidentiality is my utmost concern. I adhere to federal and provincial laws concerning the privacy of your personal information. When you seek services through Art of YOU!, any information that you share will be kept confidential. You will receive a copy of a confidentiality and consent form to read and sign during our intake.

Limits to Confidentiality

There are rare but significant times when psychotherapists are legally and ethically required to break confidentiality.

In such circumstances I only disclose the minimum amount of information necessary to meet legal and ethical guidelines. If this occurs, and it is safe for me to do so, I will inform you of any breaches of your confidentiality as soon as possible.

Below are situations in which I am required to release information to a necessary entity:

  • I am legally obligated to share information with a third party when I have concerns that an individual is at risk of seriously harming themselves or someone else.

  • I am legally obligated to report actual or suspected cases of child abuse (including neglect or physical, emotional or sexual abuse) for any child under the age of 18 to the Children’s Aid Society (CAS) or for any dependent/elder adult.

  • I am legally obligated to report sexual abuse by a regulated health care professional (to the regulating body of that professional).

  • I am legally obligated to comply with provincial and federal legal requests/subpoenas for client information.
